Biography:
Nightwing, originally known as Dick Grayson, debuted in Detective Comics #38 (April 1940). He began his crime-fighting career as Batman's first Robin, a young orphaned acrobat taken in by Bruce Wayne after his parents' murder.
As Robin, Grayson provided a lighter, more optimistic contrast to Batman's grim demeanor. He was a skilled fighter and detective, learning from Batman and honing his acrobatic abilities.
Eventually, Grayson outgrew the role of Robin and sought to forge his own identity. He adopted the persona of Nightwing, a name inspired by a Kryptonian hero, and operated independently in Blüdhaven before relocating to other cities, at times even taking on the mantle of Batman.
Black Wing is often seen as a parallel or darker version of Nightwing, sometimes depicted in alternate timelines or as a result of corruption or mind control, showcasing the potential for the hero to stray from his moral compass.
